Fallout 2 early level armor ยป Sun Feb 27, 2011 1:56 pm. Save any rubber boots for when you go rescue Smiley as well as at least one Rad-Away for later use, but. Fallout Series Rubber Boots (Fallout 2) (5 posts) solved (5 posts) solved (5 posts) solved. I read online that the Rubber Boots protect from said damage. Rubber boots are miscellaneous items in Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and Van Buren. With these old wading boots, you can walk on puddles of toxic waste safely until they melt. They do nothing to insulate the player character from electrically charged floors however. When you're ready, head to the toxic caves, equip rubber boots on both your character and any NPC's, and make your way to the west side of the caves, killing the golden geckos along the way. Smiley's held in a room to the south, so rescue him and return to Klamath, then find him again in Buckner's.

Introduction[edit]
Klamath is a small city that is populated by hunters as well as rats. You'll be able to get your first NPC here. In addition, you'll be able to attempt a rescue mission as well as eradicate the city's rat infestation.
Details[edit]
When you enter Klamath, head to the left and talk to the door-greeter guy. Give him five dollars and then ask him about what is going around in town lately. Afterwards, go talk to Torr, the man who isn't wearing a shirt. (He's also in front of the Buckner building.) Talk to him, and tell him that you will help him guard the brahmin right now.
You'll be transported to the Brahmin fields in Klamath, where one lone radscorpion will come and attack you. Kill the radscorpion, and then head west. Save the game, and attempt to kill the two Dunton brothers using your sharpened spear. After they are dead, heal, save the game, and then attack the remaining radscorpions, which are in the south-eastern area of the fields. There are seven radscorpions to kill. After you've killed all of the radscorpions, head back to Klamath.
Once you're back in Klamath, save the game, and start to steal from the other citizens of Klamath. Be sure to steal money, weapons, and 10 beers and 10 bottles of booze. Steal from the person's back, and after each successful steal, save the game. After you have had enough stealing, make way to the north-east, and go to a building that has a sign which reads 'Vic's.' Go in the building and take everything from the drawers and shelves. Be sure that you get the radio, the pipe rifle, and the JHP ammo. In the southeastern corner of Klamath, close to where you entered, there is a building with a 'Guns and Bullets' magazine in a shelf. Read the magazine to receive an increase in your small guns skill.
Go back to the Buckner building, and talk to Whiskey Bob. Offer to refuel the still for him. (You might need to buy him some whiskey while you're at it.) Head south, until you reach the wilderness. Once you're there, enter 'Sneak' mode. Go to the south-west until you reach a shack. Enter the shack, pick up the firewood, and put it in the still. After that's finished, leave for the 'civilized' part of Klamath.
After you're in Klamath, talk to Whiskey Bob, and he'll give you $50. With all of the money and stuff that you've stolen from the denizens, you should now have more than $350. Talk to Sulik, the guy in the south-eastern corner of the Buckner building. Ask him what's going on, and then ask him if you can pay for his damages. Offer to pay for them, and then you'll get Sulik in your party. Also, talk to Ardin, ask her what's wrong, and then offer to find Smiley (her boyfriend) for her.
With Sulik, head to the north-west section of Klamath. Go to the Golden Gecko, and talk to Jon Sullivan, the guy to the left in the Golden Gecko. Ask him if he can teach you magic first, and then ask him if he can teach you pugilism. Afterwards, head to the west of the Golden Gecko to go to the Canyon. Once in the canyon, kill the robot for some experience. Head back to Klamath, and then go east for Trapper town.
When you enter trapper town, save the game, and steal from all of the townsfolk of Trapper Town. Be sure to go and get two gecko pelts and two healing powders from the westernmost building in Trapper Town.
More importantly, your mission here involves killing the rat god. To kill him, you have to go to the Blades building and enter through the north-western entrance. When you enter through that entrance, you should see an old drawer and a man wearing a green shirt. Talk to the man, and ask him about Trapper Town. Talk to him again and ask him if you can have a key to go to the northern areas of the town. He'll give you the key.
When you get the key, open the locked door, and after you get past the door, close the door. Go outside, and enter the old guns store. Loot the lockers, and be sure to get the rubber boots and the 10mm ammo. Give one pair of boots to Sulik. Afterwards, leave the gun store, and then go to the western entrance of another building. Tell Sulik to remove his armor and get the leather jacket from him, and wear it. Kill all of the rats there, and enter the stairwell that leads to the basement.
After you enter the stairwell, go to the northern room with a desk. Examine the desk, and get the 10mm ammo. Kill all of the rats in this level, get the knife on the first easternmost end (it's near the dead body) and a crowbar in the remains of some bones (it's in the second easternmost end) and take the ladder that leads to the lower level of the rat caves.
When you're in the second level, kill all of the rats. The rat god will be there, and he isn't too tough. After all of the rats have been killed, go to the north-east section of the caves, and climb the ladder that is next to the bookcase. You're on your way to finding the fuel-injection module.
In this level, kill all of the rats. In the southern corner there's a locker which contains two stimpacks and 20 dollars. In the southern eastern corner, there is a dead repair robot. A tool is nearby. Get the tool, and head towards the locked door on the north side.
Once you are there, examine the shelf and take the dynamite and the crowbar. Place the dynamite really close to the door, set the timer, and wait until it detonates. After it detonates, go up the ladder. After you go up, head south, and examine the broken car on the south. After you get the fuel cell, head back to Trapper Town, and then to Klamath. Once in Klamath, go to the Buckner house, and trade for a Leather Armor using spears, meat jerkey, etc. After you get the leather armor, make sure you have some rubber boots. Leave Klamath, and head for the Toxic Caves to find Smiley the trapper.

Description
A mysterious entrance hidden in the forested hills of Klamath. Rumor has it, that the dark maze of tunnels leads to an old facility from before the War.โ
Toxic Cave is the only instanced dungeon in FOnline2 (in other words it is dungeon that it's not visible for entire player-base like in other cases of FOnline2 dungeons). To find its location a player first has to find a Toxic Cave map. Since only the player reading the map knows where this dungeon is, the location is guaranteed to be PvP free (That is, unless you desire additional challenge to the game and bring along others.) This place is a multistory, tube-like dungeon which requires a minimum of two characters to complete in RT. (Or one in turn based. Dual logging is legal). Enemies here - Geckos are challenging but it's not crazy hard to kill them depending on your capabilities and preferences you can do this place in turn based mode or real time mode (Set to desired combat mode before reading the map.)
Fallout 2 Tutorial
Note:This dungeon is unforgiving and will punish you for incompetence. Once you leave the location, either by death or an exit, any gear left behind will be lost.

Note:This dungeon can be done at a minimum of around 7 minutes. This will include completing the robotic maze in a time range of 20-30 seconds.
Note:Starting from recent update it is possible to find Implants or tier 4 crafting components in this location although chance is very, very slim. So far no one has reported successful finding one here.

Playthrough
After you enter prepare yourself for some toxic goo being all over that place. It damages you and also causes radiation so getting yourself a pare of shining rubber boots might be good idea. If you didn't bring any with you then try to find some in containers around this place. This place works just like classic Fallout 2 quest. Go in kill geckos, loot. Continue with your journey.
Initial Level
Once you enter you will be instantly attacked by 2 tough radiated gecko and one regular radiated gecko. Move bit forward and see ambush party of another radiated gecko + small one. Clear lockers on the right wing. In the right wing room there is another small gecko. When you're done looting this place go further. This was just a warm-up.
Inner Corridors
When you start moving into the level you will get attacked by 4 geckos: 2 small ones and 2 radiated ones, move further to corridor on very down. You will get attacked by small pack of Radiated Geckos. Now carefully go through the corridor trying to not step on green goo. As you travel this corridor you will get attacked by even more geckos. This time not only radiated one will show up but also Toxic Ones. They are a bit more dangerous so you can start paying attention now. Also remember that Toxic Geckos wield Toxic Gecko Skins, if you got the perk you can loot them. In middle of down corridor there is a sub corridor leading to a room with 4 lockers and now emptied nest (Gecko's that were there went out to attack you unprovoked so its only fair that you take their stuff now right?)
Ignore rest of this level unless you're looking for experience point as in the middle and top corridor there is nothing useful except for perhaps some more, angry geckos and get straight to the room with elevator, loot containers in this room, and go down, unlike Fallout 2 you won't have to repair the generator powering elevator or hack the elevator doors to go down, feels easy? Don't get cocky, FOnline2 prepared something way more troublesome just for you dear player.
Puzzle Level
Puzzle level! Favorite one amongst troll minded developers. Hated by everyone else. So this is where you need 2 people (or just one but very masochistic). One person will need to 'talk' with the PC (ignore all options but 'Enable Robot Maintenance.' rest is just for trolling purposes) from this point the task of first person is to operate the robot and get him to the valve, in order to release toxic gases. In that time the other person must watch the robot movements and guide the operator. Have fun this is extremely irritating part of this dungeon!
When you're done with releasing the poisonous air, go to the other side of room. Naturally you will be attacked by few Toxic Gecko and one Mature Toxic Gecko, total of 3 enemies. Take care of them. Go further to the storage rooms.
Note:Alternatively if you are alone you can do it masochistic way. Click on Computer move robot hex or two, stand back from PC see how it went, return to PC, rinse and repeat. It will take ages but it's doable. Just definitely won't be fun.
Storage Room
Storage room is heavily guarded by big pack of Toxic Gecko. 3 Mature ones and 2 regular ones are rushing to you as soon as you spawn in. Kill them off quickly or they will overwhelm you if you don't finish them quickly enough as they are coming one by another. Watch out it's time for big fight again. Open big doors to even bigger room by your right side. There is 6 Mature Toxic Gecko there! Be very careful they can do some decent damage if you made yourself open to few of them attacking you at once. If you managed to kill them - the biggest storage room in this dungeon is yours to loot so have some fun. Once you're done it means its time for Last Level.
The Last Level
![Boots Boots](/uploads/1/1/7/8/117802780/758551520.png)
Surprisingly enough you won't get attacked here as soon as you spawn. Go through the doors. On the left side next to you there are some containers. On the right side you can see light of exit. There is like 3 mature Toxic Gecko guarding it though. Should be easy after all these big groups in last level. In the middle there is room with last containers in this dungeon. They are guarded by the biggest group of Toxic Geckos in them whole game, 7 maybe more, it would be a tough fight if not for the fact that you can just shoot them through the second partially opened doors. Or alternatively here's a quick tip: open doors, let them chase after you to start of this level, then close the first doors in the level right through their noses and shoot them through the broken window. Any way or another you should be able to kill them all. There will be few more in the small rooms but they most likely won't be too dangerous for you.
After every nook and cranny has been thoroughly searched and all that needs to be slain has been vanquished. It will mark the end of your adventure in the cave, should you attempt a second Toxic Cave immediately after the first, it is recommended that you cure yourself of radiation/poison through use of RadAway/Magical potions from local wizard or visiting a sorcerer.
